The Rochester Monroe Anti-Poverty Initiative recently awarded a $50,000 grant to Cohort 5 alumna Rosa Curtis’s proposal to create a late-night and overnight child care center in downtown Rochester. The award will fund remodeling a space, buying play materials, and installing child-safe furniture. Having a place parents can bring their kids so they can work, Rosa says, is an incredibly important way to mitigate poverty.
